2018 Annual indexing letters

Every December and January, the WSIB mails annual indexing letters to people injured at work and survivors to outline any cost-of-living adjustment that will be made to benefits for the coming year.

Due to new legislation, as of 2018 there is a more fair and simple approach to annual indexing than in the past. You can read more about the changes on our 2018 Indexation changes web page.

In 2018, all benefits are indexed by 1.5%.

Anyone who was injured at work and is currently receiving a wage loss or non-economic loss monthly benefit will receive a letter that looks like this:

Anyone who is a survivor and is entitled to periodic payments will receive a letter that looks like this:

All letters will be accompanied by a letter from the Chair and President of CEO of the WSIB informing people about the changes. You can see a copy of the letter below:
