ePayment

What is ePayment?

In addition to traditional payment options, you can also pay your premiums online with credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit (Interac Online).

Our partner, Paymentus, provides credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or Interac Online debit payments through a secure site. You can find a list of financial institutions that offer Interac debit online services on Interac’s website.

* Please note: Paymentus will charge a 1.75% service fee for MasterCard or Visa payments. There is no charge for using Interac Online (debit). The WSIB does not receive any part of this service fee.

When you choose one of our convenient online options, your payment is applied to your WSIB account within 24 to 48 hours, depending on when your payment was made. However, our system will immediately recognize the status of your payment, so you can ensure your account remains in good standing, remain eligible for clearance certificates and avoid late payment charges. Our ePayment options are available 24/7 and are accessible from anywhere.

If you use eClearance, an added feature is that ePayment is integrated with the eClearance system and payments made are reflected in real time. The real time update allows you to come into compliance and get a clearance certificate, if an outstanding payment is the only item on your account preventing you from doing so.

Direct to Paymentus

To make a quick payment on just one account, you can use our Direct to Paymentus option to pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit (Interac Online) from your computer or mobile device. You can find a list of financial institutions that currently offer Interac Online (debit) services on Interac’s website.

To pay by MasterCard or Visa, you will need your:
  • account number
  • firm number
  • payment amount
  • MasterCard or Visa information

When using a MasterCard or Visa, Paymentus charges a service fee of 1.75% of your payment to use their service. For example, if your payment is $100, Paymentus will charge a service fee of $1.75. This fee goes directly to Paymentus; the WSIB does not receive the service fee.

Your payment is applied to your WSIB account within 24-48 hours depending on when your payment was made. If you made a payment on a weekend or holiday, the 24-48 hour period begins on the next business day.

To pay by debit via Interact Online, you will need your:

  • account number
  • firm number
  • payment amount
  • bank card information
  • online banking password

Using Interac Online (debit) through Paymentus is free; you will not be charged a service fee. Please note that the Interac Online system cannot process payments by Visa or MasterCard debit. However, most financial institutions do offer online payments, so you should still be able to process a direct payment from your bank account through online banking.

Using Paymentus via eServices

Logging into eServices gives you access to all of your account details. You can pay more than one premium at a time, confirm the amount of your payment and review the details of your payment history.

Under ePayment, click on the “Pay now” button to link to our payment partner, Paymentus and pay your premium by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit (Interac Online). Your account number, firm number and current amount due is automatically transferred to Paymentus. The only information you need to provide is your payment type.

You can also set up a payment profile, so that when you log into eServices your MasterCard or Visa credit card or Interac Online debit information is automatically loaded as well.

To access eServices, click on the log in button.

Online Banking

You can pay your premiums online through your financial institution (bank, credit union etc.). Visit your bank’s website for details on how to set the WSIB as a bill payee on your bank account.

Please note: When setting the WSIB as a bill payee, you will be required to choose either Schedule 1 (report and pay premiums) or Schedule 2 (pay claim costs) as an option.

Telephone payment

To make a payment to one account by MasterCard or Visa credit card you can call Paymentus anytime at 1-855-288-7459. There is not an operator to take the telephone payment. The telephone system is automated, and you have to enter your information using the telephone key pad.

You will need your:

  • account number
  • payment amount
  • MasterCard or Visa information

Please note you can also pay at a WSIB office. We don’t accept cash payments.
