Direct deposit services
We recognize that some of our workers may find it difficult to travel to the bank to deposit their cheques because of mobility issues or because they live in remote areas of the province. We have also heard concerns about mail delivery delays.
Direct Deposit for benefit payments give workers the peace of mind that their payments are being directly sent to their bank accounts.
In October 2010, we introduced Direct Deposit services for bi-weekly Loss of Earnings (LOE) benefit payments as part of our commitment to customer service excellence. Due to the volume of payments made by the WSIB, we have used a phased approach, offering the service first to our most vulnerable workers, and to those with locked-in LOE benefits.
Effective January 2011, workers receiving bi-weekly benefit payments for six months or longer who are involved in LMR or Medical Rehabilitation efforts can request this service through their Case Manager.
Please note that in switching to the Direct Deposit payment method, the payment date you have been accustomed to may change. However, you will continue to receive future payments every two weeks and directly through your financial institution rather than the mail.
