Research
At the WSIB, research is critical to improving our efforts to prevent, treat, and compensate workplace injury and illness, and return workers to sustainable productive work.
The WSIB currently funds these major research initiatives:
The Research Advisory Council (RAC)
The WSIB Research Advisory Council is an independent, multi-stakeholder council that oversees the WSIB’s research grants program such as Solutions for Workplace Change and Bridging the Gap, as well as the Centres of Research Expertise.
The Institute for Work & Health (IWH)
Established in 1990 by the WSIB, the IWH is an independent, not-for-profit research organization with the goal of finding ways to prevent workplace disability, improve treatment, and encourage return to work.
