Conviction: Garry Brisbois


On January 17, 2012, Garry Brisbois pleaded guilty to three counts of knowingly making a false or misleading statement or representation to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board relating to benefit entitlement. Mr. Brisbois also pleaded guilty to one count of wilfully failing to inform the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board within 10 days of a material change relating to benefit entitlement. These are violations under s.149(1) and s.149(2) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. The matter proceeded by way of an Agreed Statement of Facts and a Joint Submission as to Sentence.

Garry Brisbois was ordered by the Ontario Court of Justice in Burlington to pay fines totalling $16,500, plus a 25% Victim Fine Surcharge, payable within 18 months.
