Benefit Payments Application Date:
This policy applies to all requests for initial or replacement hearing aids received by the WSIB for approval on or after November 23, 2009, for all injuries/diseases. All other rates listed in this policy apply to all expenses incurred on or after January 1, 2010, for all injuries/diseases.

Every year, the WSIB reviews and sets the following rates after conducting an external survey of costs for each specific rate, with some exceptions as noted below.

Exceptions

The WSIB indexes the minimum burial rate annually according to the alternate indexing factor, the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The WSIB regularly reviews and sets the rate for hearing aids based on relevant information gathered from internal and external sources.
