Part Two: Workplace-Specific Hazard Training
Workplace-Specific Hazard Training is specific to the needs of individual workplaces. It augments and complements Part One, Basic Certification. Both parts are required to become Certified.
Training participants can acquire Workplace-Specific Hazard Training through courses offered by the health and safety associations, other health and safety professionals, or in-house training.
Training for Part Two must be identical for both management-designated and worker JHSC members.
Sector Programs
The Certification Training Program Standards provide the option of sector-based programs in place of Workplace Specific Hazard Training. This enables a single program to be delivered covering hazards common to the majority of workplaces in a sector. A sector program must have the endorsement from a Trade Association or bi-partite group.

If Part Two training is not completed by December 31, 2001, your training will become dormant in our Certification system. That means we will still maintain a record of your Part One training, but your status will not be active until you have completed Part Two.
