Health and Safety/Return to Work Assessment Tool
Managing health and safety is like managing accounting, quality, production or any other part of a business. To be effective, the process should be part of your company’s daily routine.
This assessment tool (1.2mb, pdf), which is based on the WSIB’s 5 Steps to Managing Health and Safety, will help you discuss and identify ways to improve workplace programs by:
- Promoting a systematic approach to managing workplace programs;
- Identifying opportunities for improvement that can be used to develop improvement plans; and
- Identifying resources, providing services and/or making referrals to help you implement those plans.
How to use the tool
Use the 5 Steps to Managing Health and Safety system as a guide for discussing each element of your workplace’s health and safety and return to work programs. Use the information and context provided for each question to determine how you score. Examples of ways to help you meet the requirements of each element are listed throughout the assessment.
Resources
Many resources to help you are listed in the tool. In future, they will also appear here for easy access.
