Board of Directors
The WSIB Board of Directors is composed of the Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer and a minimum of seven and maximum of nine board members who are representative of workers, employers and others.
The Board of Directors are appointed by the Government of Ontario pursuant to an order-in council and are public servants.
The Board of Directors governs the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board in respect of workplace safety, the reduction and prevention of injury, disease and fatalities, the administration of the insurance plan, the provision of compensation and other benefits to injured workers and their survivors and the facilitation of their recovery, return to work and re-entry into the labour market.
The members of the WSIB Board of Directors have a diverse range of skills and understanding, reflecting their experiences across many businesses and industry sectors.

There are five Board Committees that enable the Board of Directors to receive advice from the officers and employees of the WSIB. Representatives from the Board of Directors act in an advisory capacity on these committees:
